It has 1 6 watt flood and 1 6 watt spot beam, and the batteries will last from 2.5 hours on both to 5 hours on one beam. I now have had my Cygo Metro that cost $48 for a year and it's a very good light. I have not been able to test this light to actually see the brightness level but they claim it's as bright as a regular 10 watt light. The least expensive one cost about $60 and runs on 4 AA bats for up to 8 hours on high and longer on low. There is a LED light on the market right now that may be almost as bright as a halogen made by ViewPoint for Performance called the GEN3. BUT within the next 5 years I believe they will have a LED light that will match the brightness of conventional 12 watt halogen with longer battery life. I would not buy a LED light at this time unless I needed a emergency back up or needed a "to be seen light" that would run for a very long time. I compared the 500 against the 300 in the store and the 300 was a tad brighter then the 500! I thought the newer 500 was suppose to be brighter but that is not the case. So last week I'm down at the LBS and they have the 500 on display, along with the 300 and some other lights. My LBS shortly after getting the 300 started to carry Cygo and I compared the Metro-a 12 watt light-to the 300 and on just 6 watts the Cygo completly overwhelmed the 300 to the point that you thought the 300 wasn't even on! The problem with it was the beam was too small in diameter (maybe a foot round) with no scatter light. ![]() ![]() I owned a E元00 for little less then a month and it was a bright light as far as beam intensity went and as far as being one of those self-contained battery lights. These Cateye LED lights are weird, let me explain.
